OROVILLE — There was cheerful bedlam Saturday at Bedrock Park as thousands of people turned out for “Hooked on Fishing, Not on Drugs. The Kiwanis Club has been putting on the free kids’ fishing day for 12 years, and in Oroville, it has more than just fishing. The terrace above the fishing pond hosted a fair that included a pancake breakfast, bounce house and a variety of booths. It had the look of the combat fishing at the afterbay outlet before the salmon fishing ban, but was far better natured. read more
