ZAPATA - The Texas Division Stren Series opens its 2008 season here on Lake Falcon on Jan. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if it takes 75- 77 pounds just to make the top 10 cut on the pro side. The lake consists of more than a dozen major bays and countless coves and cuts that are cluttered with mesquite, huisache and other brush that sprouted when the lake dropped to more than 50 feet below normal during 1990s. Anglers are required to have a Mexico fishing license and boat permit to cross onto the Mexico side of the lake. read more
