It took us about an hour to fish the majority of the docks before we decided to head out to the main lake where I began fishing some of the numerous primary points in the mouths of the hundreds of coves the lake has to offer. Using the Fat Free Shad I began fishing it slowly over the top of the grass catching fish after fish. Bay Springs isn’t the only good lake near my home, there’s Tombigbee State Park, Elvis Presley Lake, Natches Trace Lake, the Tennessee Tombigbee Waterway, and Lake Lamar Bruce. While versatility is the key to fishing success, and I fish all techniques, my speciality is the jig and pig, which I use 80 percent of the time I’m fishing, year round.
