Topic: bass fishing - Expect The Best Shoreline Fishing Of Your Lifetime - Tampa Tribune

On Monday and Tuesday, as the peak period moves later into the afternoon and diminishing in intensity and duration, the majority of the fish populations will move in mass into shoreline vegetations making excellent shoreline angling opportunities which we haven’t experiences on most of our lakes due to the past drought. The result is, the larger fish must hunt more in order to feed and this means anglers who love to work the shoreline will be “back in the bass seat saddle again” - finally. As the bait fell about three feet in six feet of water column the line stopped but I didn’t feel any “tap” or “thump” and didn’t see the line move at all. She was much larger than the first one for there is no bass but a very large bass that is able to swim with a hookless bait on braided line through thick pads without letting go. read more

South Jersey quarry could be gold mine - The Star-Ledger - NJ.com(bass fishing)

AUNFred Lentz figures he’s probably the reason the state Division of Fish and Wildlife decided to ban fishing on Lake Audrey until next year. Lentz is a South Jersey angler who, along with a bunch of other South Jersey anglers, is helping Fish and Wildlife to turn the former quarry pit into a smallmouth bass mecca. Situated in Cumberland County between Millville and Mauricetown, Lake Aubrey was 120-acre body of water with no fish but lots of fishing potential when Fish and Wildlife acquired it four years ago. The South Jersey Bass Club Association, a group made up of 28 bass fishing clubs from Central and South Jersey, helped with the project. The Cumberland County chapter of the New Jersey State Federation of Sportsmen’s Clubs won a grant from the Cumberland County Improvement Authority to buy lime. read more

It's not too hot out for bass fishing - Yuma Sun

Don’t stay at home because of the heat - the fish are still out there and hungry, biting especially when it’s inclined towards being a bit cool early mornings and late evenings into the night along Colorado River waters in the Yuma area. When fishing for bass, one of the most frustrating fishing conditions is when the fish are found in clear, shallow water this time of year. They are plainly visible, yet almost impossible to catch - and because you are as visible as the fish, it takes plenty of finesse to get close enough to cast. Shallow bass relate strongly to shadows from overhanging trees, so make a presentation with a plastic worm - the Culprit works well - in dark colors that can be seen easily. If the bass plays lazy, twitch the lure quickly out of the strike zone to give the lure an appearance of a fleeing baitfish which often elicits a strike. A pair with ‘yellow’ tint for sight fishing shallow bass can make a fish stand out from its surroundings. read more
