The winds will pick up for the weekend with N/NW winds at 15-20 knots on Saturday, increasing to 25-30 knots from the NW by the evening. For Saturday, expect NE/NW winds at 5-10 knots shifting N/NW at 10-15 knots in the afternoon and increasing to 20-25 knots from the NW overnight. On Saturday, variable winds to 10 knots, turning NW at 10-15 knots overnight, cooler SW winds on Sunday at 15-20 knots. Saturday SE/NE winds at 5-10 knots and on Sunday S/SE winds at 10-15 knots north of Innisfail and SW/SE winds at 15-20 knots elsewhere. Gutters opposite the Bedrooms and Currigee on South Stradbroke Island are producing good fish after dark and gutters between the Southport pumping jetty south towards the surf club are also fishing well at daylight and dusk, although the fish aren’t of as good a quality.
