From area tackle shops, I am hearing that the steelhead fishing has been hot, but fishing pressure has been only light to moderate. Ice fishermen were still on Misery Bay, off Chestnut Street and a few other places in and around Presque Isle Bay on Thursday. But the ice is deteriorating along the shoreline, and most ice fishermen feel that the ice fishing season is over on the bay. Some good walleye fishing was reported this week on the Allegheny River in Venango County and in Warren County, and at the Woodcock Creek Dam outflow. read more
