The weather outside is miserably cold, fishing reports are few and far between and I spent the day trying to free up a frozen steering cable. Tackle is expensive and lures, skirts, rigs and hooks become tarnished, matted and tangled more easily in this weather. Though it will remain a bit cold, the time is perfect to do a bit of scouting even if the fish aren’t biting. My last run showed good schools of large spottail in the shallow water flat regions around the points of McKay and the mouth of Skull Creek. read more
