Usually people think of mayflies or caddis flies when they are selecting flies for trout, but there are many different insects available to fish in spring creeks that people overlook. Wagner has worked in fly fishing shops since he was 14 years old and was looking to open a fly fishing shop where there was down-to-earth good fishing in a relaxed atmosphere. Wagner likes to fish the west fork of the Kickapoo River and Timber Coulee Creek in Vernon County plus the more than 60 spring creeks with over 200 miles of trout water in Vernon County. Larry Mann and Wendy Williamson own the Hayward Fly Fishing Company and guide fishermen for smallmouth bass and muskies on rivers in the Hayward area.
