Barbara Hall spoke to The Examiner yesterday after the release of a report that confirmed racial profiling played a role in attacks on Asian-Canadian anglers last summer. Peterborough Race Relations Committee member Anu Verma said anti-racism training commitments made by police forces and school boards is a good step forward. Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters executive director Mike Reader didn’t have a chance to read the report but said all anglers have been harassed. York Region police Chief Armand La Barge cautioned that Ministry of Natural Resources conservation officers and police are the only people who have the authority to make these demands. read more
