Lefty Kreh, 83, a lifelong fly angler, has caught more than 100 species on a fly and fished with famous figures around the world. Either way, the Hall of Fame fly angler will launch into a story, usually something at his own expense, at the drop of a name or the snap of a fly line. Like the time back in the 1960s when he hooked up with Charles Ritz, of Ritz hotel fame, himself a fly fisherman and a tackle inventor who wrote extensively on the subject.
