MEDFORD - Women on the Fly, a group of Southern Oregon women who share a passion for fly fishing, have partnered with Casting for Recovery to raise funds to help women with breast cancer by sponsoring the Casting for Recovery Charity Golf Tournament scramble at Stewart Meadows Golf Course in Medford on Saturday, May 17. Social interactions offer women a chance to share, laugh, vent and rejuvenate. Casting for Recovery provides fly fishing retreats for women who have or have had breast cancer. The next Casting for Recovery retreat will be on the Umpqua River at the Big K Guest Ranch in Elkton, Oregon, September 5-7. Casting for Recovery and Women on the Fly are hoping to raise enough funds with the golf tournament to provide a therapeutic fishing weekend for 14 women.
